Looking for an Indoor Dryer Vent

Importance of Indoor Dryer Venting

Using a dryer can be extremely dangerous to you and your family if you are not venting properly, this is where the indoor dryer venting comes in to play. It is important to have a dryer, however what is even more important is that it is vented properly. If you aren't venting your dryer properly then you are letting vapors into your home that could harm you.

You will want to look into the different options for venting. Many people find that if there is not already a venting system in place it is easier if they just get an indoor dryer venting system. This is much easier to install than an outside venting system is. You will likely be able to do this on your own as well. This is a great added benefit from having to pay someone to do an outdoor venting system if you are worried that you can't handle to task or won't be able to do it correctly.

Just like with an outdoor system in order, to be sure that you are not risking a fire from the dryer; you will need to be sure that you are cleaning it. This should be done about twice a year or every six months. There are many people who don't take these precautions and then find out that they come home to a home that has been damaged by fire.

So while it is convenient for you to use an indoor dryer venting system don't forget that you are not making yourself exempt from the cleaning and maintenance that needs to be preformed. With this type of system you will also want to be sure that you are dumping your water periodically. This will help to ensure that you are safe from the vapors that are being absorbed by the water.

The water for this type of system will also give you the added benefit of trapping the lint for you. If you have a stackable washer and dryer you will find that there is not a lot of room for proper ventilation. This being said it might be a good idea if you get an indoor system so that you are sure that everything is properly ventilated. No matter which system you use you will also want to be sure that the duct is not be compressed at all. If this happens you won't have proper ventilation and again this can cause fire to your home.
